Come and join us as we offer fun and exciting new cooking classes each season. These classes are economical and perfect for working parents or the novice chef at home. We'll see you in the kitchen.

Meet the Instructors!


Cheryl Turner 

I have been involved in teaching children for the past 40+ years. I love working with kids and helping instill basic life skills. We offer kids programs starting at 2 1/2 years old, you can never start too early! I have been married for 49 years to my wonderful husband Frank and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. I am one of the head teachers at a private school in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, where I have worked since 1991 and continue to help the school grow and prosper. 

My favorite style of cooking is home-style comfort foods.

My favorite meal to prepare is Fried Chicken with Browned Pan Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and Apple Pie. 


Krystal Turner 

I have been with Frederick County Parks & Recreation as a cooking instructor since 2012. I also have taught at Frederick Community College as an adjunct professor for the Culinary Arts Program. I have an Associates Degree and Certificate in Culinary Arts and Business Management, through Frederick Community College.  

My favorite style of cooking is ethnic cooking from European to South American. I enjoy exploring new flavors and cooking techniques from other cultures and cuisines.
 
 My favorite meal to prepare is Chicken Cordon Bleu, Onion Tarts, sauteed Green Beans and rich Chocolate Mousse.
