Fountain Rock Park, developed from a property purchased by Daniel Dulany in the 1700s, has a rich industrial history including a limestone quarry and kiln complex. Ownership shifted through the 19th and 20th centuries, culminating in Frederick County purchasing it in 1983. Key milestones include the construction of lime kilns, a trout farm, the approval of a master plan in 1991, and various restorations and park enhancements such as the Butterfly Garden, Wetlands, and Quarry Pond.
