Rose Hill Manor Park Carriage Museum Project

Project Overview

Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation is constructing a new Carriage Museum at Rose Hill Manor Park in Frederick, Maryland. The new 6,000-square-foot, single-story building will house and display antique carriages and include classroom space, restrooms, and storage. This project addresses preservation needs and will enhance the visitor experience through educational exhibits focused on early American transportation. The new facility also supports ongoing historic interpretation efforts at the site.

Phase Title: Design 

Design is complete. The project incorporated coordination with historic site aesthetics, forest conservation planning, and permit approvals.

Pending Construction or Installation

Interior exhibit installation and interpretive planning will continue in coordination with partners. Additional site enhancements may follow based on operational needs.

Rose Hill Manor Carraige Museum

Funding

The Rose Hill Manor Park Carriage Museum project is funded primarily through Frederick County’s Capital Improvement Program. In addition, we were awarded a $500,000 Maryland Capital Bond Grant (Grant ID: 22-268), which supports construction and equipping of the facility. The grant was authorized by the General Assembly in 2022 and is administered through the Department of General Services (DGS).
