During the one and a half hour long Early Life tour your group will see six areas of the museum. The outline includes topics that may be discussed during your tour in each area. Please note that during this tour children will receive a taste of mint tea (mint grown at Rose Hill, water and sugar) and popcorn (no added oils or flavorings).

Early Life in America

These materials are provided to enhance curriculum application in social studies, science and language arts studies of students grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.*Each set of materials is designed to complement a themed immersion experience tour of Rose Hill Manor Park & Museums. We encourage you to use these lesson plans and resources as a pre- or post- visit activity. Whose job was it?

Explore what life would have been like and what types of tasks they would have participated in as part of the household economy in the 18th and 19th centuries. As part of this lesson students will learn about textiles and the use of natural resources in production.
