Park Improvements

Frederick County Parks and Recreation is undergoing site enhancements designed to better accommodate visitors at several parks.

Park projects to be completed by Fall 2016 include:



Pinecliff Park
  • Constructing four (4) restrooms 
  • Providing public sewer connection to the Browning Building 
Middletown Park
  • Install vaulted restroom 
Ballenger Creek Park 
  • Install vaulted restroom 
Utica District Park 
  • Install vaulted restroom 

Park projects to be completed by Winter 2017 include:



Buckeystown Park
  • Install vaulted restroom 
  • Replace existing wooden footbridge with culvert pipe and paved trail 
  • Canoe/kayak carry-in launch constructed for pedestrian access to the Monocacy River 
Loy’s Station Park
  • Expanded parking lot 
  • Paved trail 
  • Large shelter 
  • Expand Playground and install rubber surfacing system 
  • Install vaulted restroom 
  • Construct pedestrian bridge to island picnic area 
  • Landscaping and tree planting 
  • Repaint Loy’s Station Covered Bridge 
Roddy Road Park
  • Re-align Roddy Creek Road 
  • Paved parking lot 
  • Playground with rubber surfacing 
  • Construct Shelter 
  • Install vaulted restroom 
  • Construct paved trail 
  • Landscaping and tree planting 
  • Repaint Roddy Road Covered Bridge 
  • Stabilize creek banks
