The Ballenger Creek Community Building is unavailable for public rental, Monday-Friday, during the summer months due to our full-day summer camps. The approximate dates for closure are mid-June through Labor Day. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Facility Reservations can be made one year in advance of the desired reservation date.

Building Capacity

  • No more than 140 persons permitted in the Ballenger Creek Community Building, by Order of the County Fire Marshal.

  • BY ORDER OF THE FIRE MARSHAL: If you are having 50 or more persons in the building during your reservation, you must have a Certified Crowd Manager on site during your reservation. Please complete the Certified Crowd Manager Online Training at the following link:  Fire Marshal Crowd Manager Online Training ($19.95).  Please email a copy of the certificate to the Parks and Recreation main office no later than two weeks prior to your reservation.

Alcohol Permit 

Only the applicant, age 21 or older, making the Community Building reservation can purchase an alcohol permit. Applicant must submit an alcohol permit application and copy of a valid driver’s license or identification card to parksandrecreation@frederickcountymd.gov  Alcohol Permits must be obtained 10 or more business days prior to the reservation date.

Recycling

Events at this facility serving food or drink AND expecting 200 or more persons in attendance must comply with State of Maryland Special Event Recycling legislation. For more information, please visit Maryland's Special Events Recycling Law.
